LITTLE MOMENTS........BIG MEMORIES

It's time to say good-bye,
Our year has come to an end.
Wonderful memories flood my mind,
As I put my brain in re-wind.
I think of special characteristics of each person,
And will miss all, I am certain.
Running, throwing and jumping are your body in motion.
Angkrish, cricket is what you have chosen.
By focusing on balls, bats and equipment,
Your love for sports becomes your commitment.
Jessica, who always listens and never whines,
Your skill at gymnastics cannot be undermined.
My book lover, my reader,
Jiya, you are a lovely creature.
Focusing on characters, conflict and plot,
You love books a lot.
Sania, the gigglerific,
She collects interesting and cool stuff,
Who is kind and will never gruff.
Addition, subtraction and division are your logic
Satyakam your brain can be measured with a yardstick.
Focusing on numbers, symbols, and factors,
You love math and precise answers.
Centre of attention with all of your silly tales,
Hilal your personality is as big as a whale.
Aditya, the mischief maker-your jokes are full of intelligence and whit
Your love for entertaining makes my sides split.
Pritha who follows directions perfectly,
You are always polite and show courtesy.
So many expressions, one amazing face,
Atreyee, your writing is the best and
You can talk better than the rest.
Krittika who dances with finesse and is the finest
You are truthful and never biased.
Humorous, fun, secure and true,
Always there... yes Krishn that's you.
Aakash, the brainiac with a knowledge bowl,
The process of learning, the beginning of growth.
How lovely to have a budding artist like Ratan here
You just don't see how your work will appear.
Like father like daughter,
Pranati always talks of saving nature.
Saisha who’s sweet smile is so cheerful
For her Life is beautiful.
Rishabh all the hard work is not hopeless or bleak,
A career of your choice waits at the peak.
Aryan who easily gets me off topic,
and is the most wonderful comic
Zaina came in very new has the loveliest art
Of sharing and doing her part.
The shy, the wild, the funny and the naughty
This is the group I will always care for strongly.
I LOVE YOU AND WILL MISS YOU A LOT!!!!

POEM FOR ME.....

OUR MARVELOUS MEMORIES

We know it is the end,
We all cannot take a bend,
Now we have to say good-bye,
And happiness will never die,
You are the best teacher ever featured,
your record of best teacher ever will never break,
your teaching makes our work a piece of cake.
East or west-you are the best,
North or south- there is no doubt.

TIME CAPSULE

Students made their own time capsule which they will bury in their family backyard or will use their relatives or friends and then decide on a time period after which they would come back and dig it out to refresh their memories.
The objective was to assess their understanding on how certain artefacts would reveal a person’s identity by speaking about their life-style and personal likings. To make it exciting and realistic, we planned to give them a time frame in which their friends can return to the designated areas, and dig up the capsules.

Students very enthusiastically decided on what items and/or artifacts they would like to put in their time capsules that represent who they are and what they do, so that in a later time this will remind them of what their lives were like. They were able to give reasons why they have chosen particular items to place in their capsules.

READOSAURUS

The library runs a reading club called READOSAURUS. During this programme students had to meet a target of reading a particular number of books within a time period. All students participated with a great deal of enthusiasm. On the completion of the programme they were treated to a delicious ice cream at an ICE CREAM PARTY!!!!!

FIELD TRIP- NATIONAL MUSEUM

As a part of the  for the current  unit of inquiry under the TD Theme ‘ Where we are in place and time’ we planned a visit to the National Museum, where they observed a collection of the antiquities excavated from both, the pre-Indus sites, the post-Indus, like Harappa, Mohenjo-Daro and Chanhudaro. They also saw antiquities of the late and post-Harappan phase recovered from Harappa, Jhukar, Shahi Tump and others. Most of them are primarily functional objects like the painted earthen vessels, but each piece reveals the face of art. Some objects, such as the bronze Dancing Girl recovered from Mohenjo-Daro, or the priest’s steatite statues, reveal a more decisive creative endeavour. The Indus glyptic art, the cultic imagery in special, whatever its medium, soft stone, clay or metal, seem to have been the works of a school specially founded for art.

It was a great learning experience!!!
